Love Finds You In Sugarcreek, Ohio

Book Description:  A mysterious outsider casts a long shadow on Ohio's Amish country. Policewoman Rachel Troyer has always looked after her three elderly Amish aunts, proprietors of a farmhouse inn near Sugarcreek, Ohio. The idyllic town is popular with tourists, who come to sample its famous Amish goods. But one thing is clear to Rachel - Joe Matthews is no tourist. When the bearded stranger lands on her aunts' doorstep, begging shelter for himself and his young son, Rachel is suspicious. Will she be able to uncover Joe's secrets despite her aunts' - and her own - growing affection for him?

My Review Is this really be Serena B. Miller's first published novel? The characters in this novel are so vividly drawn, the plot so engaging, the inspirational message so well integrated into the story, that even readers who don't usually pick up a novel described that way will find this one engaging and thought provoking. I look forward to more books by this author. This is a gem of a debut.
I also love the cover of this book....it "describes" what I would picture the Amish countryside to look like--serene farmland and a buggy driving along the countryside.
You won't want to miss this great-tastic read!  The romance is light and well done, the mystery is one that is hard to figure out, and Rachel's three aunts are delightful in their trust in God and in studying human nature.
What really grabbed me though is the Amish humor presented in this book.  Most of us probably think of the Amish as staid, literally plain people but as Serena points out they are quite humorous.  I laughed out loud at the funny things Eli said to Joe!  This gave me a wonderful look at the Amish as "real" people who love to laugh too.
A fantastic mix of the English and Amish ways.
This is delightful 5 star read!
