Love Finds You in Victory Heights, Washington
Book Description:  The Second World War has stolen Rosalie's fiance from her. But rather than wallow, Rosalie throws herself into her work at the Boeing plant in Victory Heights, shooting rivets into the B-17 bombers that will destroy the enemy. A local reporter dubs her Seattle's Own Rosie the Riveter, and her story lends inspiration to women across the country. While Rosalie's strong arms can bear the weight of this new responsibility, her heart cannot handle the intense feelings that begin to surface for Kenny, the handsome reporter. Fear of a second heartbreak is a powerful opponent - but will it claim victory over love?

My Review:  I absolutely enjoy reading the Love Finds You . . . Series!  Love Finds You in Victory Heights, Washington is a fantastic read about Rosie the Riveter during World War II.
Rosalie's(Rosie) fiancee is shot down in the war.  She is sad but is still strong.  She, like most of the women during WWII, are doing a man's job while their men are off fighting the war.  Quite by accident Rosalie gets into a competition at work and is dubbed "Rosie the Riveter."
Yes, there is a place right outside of Seattle, Washington named Victory Heights.  I love the play on words in the title. . . Victory Heights AND the victory's we won in WWII.
This is a delightful read with comedy & romance (not sappy) and about the lives of the women in the factories plus how they had to ration everything.
I instantly felt a kinship with Rosalie.  She had tragedy hit her square in the face but she didn't buckle or complain.  She relied on God to give her strength and He saw her through her pain.
Facts about WWII are intermingled with the story of Rosalie, her friends, and the "heroes at home."  The authors did great research for this time period.
This was a sad time in our history but together Tricia Goyer and Ocieanna Fleiss write a beautiful, flowing 5 star story.
A story that brings out the best in us and makes us proud to be Americans and women!

  1. Sounds like an interesting book. My Great Aunt who invited me to live with her in TX when I graduated from highschool, was in her twenties during WWII and I learned alot from her how it was to live during that time. (Her future husband was in the Army in Europe at the time.) She met him at a USO dance and wrote to him when he was sent back over seas. Anyway this book reminds me of her and will put it on my list.
