Let's Do Lunch! By Roger Troy Wilson

Let's Do Lunch: Eating all the Calories and Carbs you want to lose weight!
Book DescriptionWith this Revised and Updated Edition of Let's Do Lunch, you eat until full in all the food groups, including all you want of unprocessed starchy carbs, the sweetest fresh fruits and fruit smoothies, lean red meat, corn thins, cheese, healthy fats, veggies, whole-grain cereals and crispbreads, dark brown and wild rice, snacks, dressings, condiments, and sauces. But because these foods stabilize your blood sugar, your body forces you to become less and less hungry with each passing day. Thus, you begin to eat less and less, consume fewer and fewer calories, and lose all the weight you want.

In Let's Do Lunch, Roger Troy reveals:
  • Eat until full whenever you are hungry, no matter how often that is and no matter how many calories you consume (even if you start by eating 10,000 calories a day)-thus eliminating your hunger cravings.
  • Your body can't tell the difference between starchy carbs, so when you eat the Let's Do Lunch starchy carbs, it eliminates your cravings for the fattening starchy carbs.
  • Your body can't tell the difference between sugars, so when you eat the sweetest fresh fruits and fruit smoothies, it eliminates your cravings for all the foods made with fattening sugar in them.
My Review:  I've been looking for a plan to lose some weight and was so excited when this book became available by Thomas Nelson Publishing!  I had not heard of this book but knew I wanted to read it when I saw the title---love the title!  And I was not disappointed.  Roger was a heavy (obese) person and ate like a lot of Americans eat---not many fresh fruits and vegetables, a lot of eating out---too many carbs not much protein.  As we age, unfortunately, the body/metabolism slows down and we begin to gain weight.  Roger has a  fantastic solution for us in need of weight repair.
He gives us realistic food ideas and my favorite is on page 54 #2:  "Desserts are a thing of the past if you are going to lose weight and keep it off.  But don't be dismayed because forcing yourself to eat fruits, especially grapes and frozen grapes, you will actually become addicted to them and no longer desire desserts or candy."   I love this!  And I actually feel better by not eating junk food.
I've just started following Roger's plan so I've not lost much weight but I am pleased with already feeling better.  My ten year old son, who is not overweight, wanted an apple for breakfast!  My hope is that my family will have better eating habits too....so we'll all be healthier!
The book also has a wonderful 14-day meal guide.  A day by day list with breakfast, lunch, dinner (supper in the south :) and an evening snack are all listed.  There is also a section of simple and delicious recipes.  Little Mary's Pizza Soup looks wonderful and is great for those times one craves pizza.  This makes it so easy to follow and to make a grocery list from.
I love this 5 star book!   And am looking forward to a healthier lifestyle!
