The Secret Life of Jonathan Sperry {DVD} *GIVEAWAY*

The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry

Description: Best buddies Dustin, Albert and Mark are twelve year old boys looking forward to a summer of fun in 1970.  When Dustin mows the lawn of seventy-five year old Jonathan Sperry, a man he has seen at church, a unique friendship develops. What happens the rest of this summer is something Dustin and his friends will never forget.

MY REVIEW:  I rarely review a dvd but my ten year old son and I sat down last Saturday afternoon to watch The Secret Life of Jonathan Sperry.  I wasn't quite sure what kind of movie this would be BUT I was pleasantly surprised by the intriguing story.  There is an amazing cast of actors but it's the message of the movie that will really touch your heart.  I was so glad that my ten year old was watching it with me.  He laughed and cried (well he had tears in his eyes.).  This movie is based on a true story, or so I was told.  A story that will touch your soul.  It is not an action, fast moving picture show.  It is a slower make-you-sit-up-and-take-notice movie!  This movie reminds me of the quote by S. Truett Cathy  (founder of Chick-fil-A), "It's easier to build boys than to mend men." A wonderful movie for boys but it also gave "me pause" -- to think about the words I speak, about the people I (need) to tell about Jesus' love, about forgiveness and what a child learns today will stay with him for a lifetime.  Need a great family movie?  This is it!  A wonderful 5 star watch!

I know you're asking where can I get such a GREAT dvd? Well,
at Amazon, of course. :)  The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry

  1. So many people have touched my life in a positive way, but my number one would be my maternal grandfather, who is since long ago passed. He taught me class, respect and honor. Three very important traits to take through life. Without him, I would not have been.

  2. Many people have touched my life. However, I think my Christian parents will have to be the number #1 influence.

  3. Beside my Mother the other person that has touched my life and I remember so well was my Sunday School teacher when I was a middle school student. She was known to us as Mrs Cross and she is the influnce that brought me to the Lord Jesus Christ. She has been gone to her reward for many many years, but I am now 67 years old and I remember her so well.

I would love to win the set of DVDs

    May God bless

  5. My Dad really touches my life in a postive way, because he is always loving and caring. My dad rarely ever gets upset and he always sees the best in everyone. That makes me want to be better and more like him.

Would love to win this DVD.

  6. It would have to be my maternal grandfather, also. He had such a sense of humor. When we were little we could climb all over him and he didn't mind. Then out of nowhere, he'd pop his false teeth out and we'd go shrieking. Loved that man. So generous with himself and gifts.

  7. I was just yesterday thinking about my business ed (typing, shorthand, etc) teacher in high school - I actually worked for her two years grading papers. I always admired her for her sense of style and quiet dignity.

  8. The person that has touched my life the most would be my mom. Through thick and thin, she has been my best friend and confidante. I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for her!

    Thanks for this, Tammy!

This is a great movie that I'd like to own! I just recently borrowed it from someone.
There have been many people who touched my life in a positive way, but I think my mother has had the most influence on me. Besides her, maybe my sister-in-law. Both of these people have witnessed to me, loved me with unshakable love, and counseled me on many things.

I'm a new follower. The people who most influenced my life would be my parents. I love that while distance separates us, we still talk on the phone or via webcam several times as week.
