My Review:  I love the title of this devotional because it is truly a "Pause for Power" when we read and glean from God's Word.  This is a 365 Day Journey in the Scriptures – daily devotionals that encourage the reader in the Word.
This small but powerful book offers insight and encouragement, this devotional touches on real-life themes that include contentment, integrity, patience, joy, hope, ministry, love, and peace. Each day’s devotional includes a brief Bible passage, an excerpt about that particular passage from Wiersbe’s BE commentaries, and questions for personal reflection. A brief 'Something To Ponder' ends each day’s Scripture meditation and purposefully commits the reader’s heart and mind to God’s direction.
Pause for Power is a year long study of the books of the Bible as well as reflections and prayers. This year-long study includes an examination of the Old Testament books of Job, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Isaiah, as well as the New Testament books of Romans, 1 and 2 Corinthians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Hebrews, James, 1 Peter, and 1 John. Wiersbe encourages readers to make personal application of God’s Word to every situation of their lives.
Wiersbe’s ability to explore and explain the Bible with tasty morsels of wisdom that will carry readers through a great deal of Scripture in a single year.  It is a great tool in helping one to develop a personal relationship with the Lord.
There's so much "good" in this book it was like walking into a heavenly chocolate store and being overwhelmed with all the wonderful morsels!  I was especially impressed with the devotional on page 104 entitled 'In Good Company.'  The devotional begins with Romans 1:16-17, then goes into a short story about a discouraged missionary, his name is not given until the end of the story.  It was a great encouragement to me!
This is an excellent 5 star devotional for the more serious minded Christian.  If you enjoy studying the Scriptures with the help of an excellent Bible teacher then you'll enjoy this fantastic devotional with wonderful life-lessons and stories.
This is a mighty.powerful.read!  One you'll not want to miss. . . make  sure to get one for yourself and then for that person on your gift list who wants to increase his faith in the new year.
