My Review: I love chick lit . . . with Jenny Jones and Kristen Billerbeck topping the list of great authors. In Jenny's newest book, Save the Date, Lucy has to make some momental decisions.
Alex is one sweet guy but I truly liked the way Lucy kept him in touch with reality! At the beginning of this read it did seem as if I had read this story line before but I knew that Jenny's way would be a totally different telling of the same.old.same.old. And I was not disappointed.
Lucy desperately needs money for the home she runs for teens aging out of foster care and Alex desperately needs votes for the senate seat he wants to win. Both desperately need the others help but neither one is exactly thrilled to help the other much less be in the other's company. But then Alex offers Lucy the money to fund her home and her dream if she will pose as his fiancee. Having a fiancee will help Alex to seem more human and may be the ticket he needs to get the senate seat. Lucy graciously accepts but isn't fond of the idea that Alex's family money can buy anything he wants. She actually despises the fact that Alex comes from money.
Jenny writes a wonderful 5 star story and doesn't wimp out on leaving Jesus out of the story. Romance isn't the highlight of this read but working things out, learning from Jesus and being true to oneself with sweet romance and giggles intermingling in this fun read!
I know you're thinking that you know where this story is going and you know how it will end. .. wrong! Jenny throws a curveball or two that keeps the reader on her toes. My favorite kind of read!
This is classified as a YA (young adult) read but I would recommend this book to adults as well especially if you enjoy christian chick lit.
So "Save the Date" for February 2011 when Thomas Nelson will release this wondrous read....don't miss it!

I see Jenny Jones and immediately think of the talk show host that was on air back in the 90's.... yeah, I figured out this isn't her, and then read the description. Sounds pretty good actually! If I could just get past that name. Maybe reading the book would do it.
