Book description: Fifteen-year-old Scotty Dawn travels to movie sets with her mom, Charley, a food designer. Scotty is determined to discover what she wants from life. She’s even documenting the journey on her “Hollywood Nobody” blog. But as Scotty begins to ask tough questions, will her story have a happy ending?
My Review: This is an interesting somewhat amusing read about a fifteen year old *nobody* in the fast, sometimes unrealistic, world of Hollywood.
Scotty is one of those teen girls who is mature but there is a child in her heart.of.hearts. Scotty, like a lot of teen girls, feels like no one truly "sees" her. She begins to blog. And does a great job of blogging and her blog becomes famous, almost overnight! Probably because she sees life with her heart and writes what she feels and sees in the most honest way....truthfully!
Scotty is a likable girl. She moves to the Hollywood set with her mom, Charley, and can't figure out why they are running from a mysterious man her mom won't talk about.
Scotty meets her Grampie and Grammie. By meeting them she also meets Jesus through them. Scotty had never really heard about sin and how Jesus died for mankind. Her wonderful grandparents help her to see beyond the Hollywood glitz and glitter to the real point of life...a relationship with Jesus.
Real life Hollywood people are the characters in this read. So, as one reads this story it is very realistic and makes one feel like Scotty is your friend and you're simply reading her blog entries.
This is a YA book but I truly enjoyed getting to know Scotty. Of course, I loved that she is a blogger! Bloggers *rock*!
Lisa Samson has written a 5 star read for young adults but this is also an enjoyable read for adults of all ages.

This looks like a fun read! Great review!
ReplyDeleteI agree with fredamans, it sounds like a fun read. It reminds me of some of the older sweet coming of age teen movies. If that makes any sense. Any way I like your review.
