My Review: I love a good mystery preferably one that isn't predictable. Nancy Mehl brings us a quirky, humorous mystery in Missing Mabel. Hilde, the main heroine, is not only quirky but loves SPAM (the Hormel packaged meat)! I find this amusing because my husband loves SPAM and shares Hilde's fascination with making SPAM fit into our menu. Hilde also stumbles into a mystery....which takes her on a crazy journey. Along the journey she again connects with a guy, Adam, from her growing up years. AH! The sweet romance BUT Hilde isn't quite sure how Adam fits into God's plan for her life.
Adam becomes a great help to Hilde and together they go "looking" for the missing body. Then there's Gabe, an older man, who Hilde befriends. Gabe has a mystery of his own going on. Oh! The suspense!
This quirky, funny read takes place mainly in funeral homes....a new look at a place we all may deem as creepy. After reading this book I no longer "see" funeral homes as creepy places. Maybe places where mysteries happen but not creepy .
Loved this 5 star mystery!
I hate SPAM but it doesn't deter me from a good read, and this one sounds fun! Great review!
