Amish Proverbs: Words of Wisdom from the Simple LifeBook Description:  Simplify your life with Amish wisdom
Through firsthand research and personal relationships, Suzanne Woods Fisher has collected more than 200 proverbs that uncover the rich heritage, folklore, faith, values, history, and essence of the Plain People. These proverbs serve as teaching tools and maxims for practical living--but they're not just for the Amish. They're for anyone who seeks God's wisdom and truth for everyday circumstances.
Ranging from the simple to the profound, from the serious to the humorous, these sayings will stick with you through life's joys and sorrows. With beautiful full-color photos throughout, Amish Proverbs is the perfect gift for any occasion.
Suzanne Woods Fisher's interest in the Anabaptist cultures can be directly traced to her grandfather, W. D. Benedict, who was raised in the Old Order German Baptist Brethren Church in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Fisher is the author of Amish Peace and the bestselling novel The Choice, the first in her Lancaster County Secrets series.

Instead of a Review, A Proverb:  Sweet words and beautiful pictures makes for a simply gorgeous book!  This has to be one of the nicest and "richest" books I've had the privilege to read.  Amish Proverbs Words of Wisdom from the Simple Life by Suzanne Woods Fisher is beautiful book that takes the simple sayings in life and makes them stand out in our everyday lives.
This is a book you'll cherish and pass on to your children's children.
The following is one my favorite proverbs from this book "Don't Believe Everything You Think!"  Why did I pick this one?!?!  Since I'm a pastor's wife I hear a lot and I don't want to believe everything 'I think about what I hear.'
Our family also has a proverb, "Be blessed by blessing others."  We have been truly blessed by helping others!

Suzanne Woods Fisher is the CBA bestselling author of The Choice, The Waiting, Amish Peace, and Amish Proverbs. Her interest in the Anabaptist cultures can be directly traced to her grandfather, W. 1. Sounds like a neat book. My mom's home town was near the Amish. We would visit the Rockome Gardens and get a glimps of how the Amish lived. It's a peaceful spot and I always loved it.

  4. I wish my family had the proverb written above by MAN! Let's see for my family, I think a proverb we tried to follow was to listen to and follow counsel of the wise and experienced.
