Plain Jayne---Not SO Plain!

Plain Jayne (Plain and Simple)
My Review: I began reading about the Amish when Beverly Lewis began writing.  Since then many, many authors have written and are still writing about the Amish.  To be honest after awhile one gets rather tired of reading the same old, same old story.  So, I was hesitant to read "another" book about the Amish.  After reading Plain Jayne my sister told me that this was a good read.  Therefore, I began reading Plain Jayne....WOW!  I was hooked.  This is a GREAT read.  NOT the "typical" Amish story.  It's a modern day story with complicated family issues, romance and about a young woman, Jayne, trying to figure out where she fits into God's plan.  It's also an easy read.  I recommend this book with a definite 8 stars (okay, so I can only give 5) But it's that
good!

  1. I am like you. I have read books that seem repeatitive. I would be interested in reading about a modern Amish family. Having lived most of my life in Iowa, I have rubbed shoulders with several Amish people. Just like others, some have faith is God and some do not. This sounds like a good book that may deal with some of the issues of growing up in the Amish community.

  6. I've always loved books about the Amish, but have slowed down somewhat for the same reason as you, Tammy. Then I read an excellent Amish book by a personal friend of mine, Dale Cramer, called Levi's Will. From the reviews I've read, Plain Jayne will offer another unique reading experience and I'm eager to start it. Thank you for the giveaway, Tammy.
