{Litfuse Blog Tour}The Life Ready Woman: Thriving in a Do-It-All World by Shaunti Feldhahn & Robert Lewis AND GIVEAWAY!

Book Description: Whether a stay-at-home mom or an airplane-hopping executive, a student or a senior adult, most women need a contemporary, encouraging vision for what it means to be a godly, biblically guided female in the twenty-first century. A biblical woman takes God's Word seriously not just at church but also in the everyday walk of life.
But can a significant and satisfying twenty-first-century womanhood really be defined from Scripture? One that can apply to all women and yet not be guilty of cookie-cutter sameness, pressing everyone into a common mold? One that will stay fresh even as a woman grows older? One that can guide her to the best in life? The answer is yes, and the result is a femininity without excesses and regrets that mark those who just go with the flow of the world.

In Life Ready Woman, best-selling author Shaunti Feldhahn helps readers take five faith steps drawn from the Bible that will help to define the best life possible. Each one is easy to understand, but requires bold faith to activate. The reward is being ready for the deeper life that God has planned.

My Review:  This is one of those "help" reads that makes one think.  No matter what your vocation is . . . stay-at-home manger, an executive with privileges-- such as, having someone else clean your house and maybe, watch your children, eating out instead of cooking, or simply a senior adult whose life style has changed to include more "me" free time then you may be a woman with life ready challenges.
The authors begin by pointing out marriage equality.  It takes both the mom and dad to raise the children, and that both parents are working parents.  Great points!
Then the authors state that both men and women are to: a) leave and cleave; b) be fruitful and multiply; and c) subdue and rule.   In essence both partners need to be involved in the parenting, finances, and child rearing activities of the home.
However, I did wonder about single mothers or even single fathers who can't help but "go at it alone."  Where do they fit into this very snug picture?
There are a lot of great ideas in the first four chapters of this read.  However, I was disappointed that the authors seem to link higher education in women with the decrease/devaluing of the home.  Women should be educated and sometimes the woman's career "pays" for the family to live.
It does seem to me that one of the partners will need to make some sacrifices if the other partner is successful.  Not everything can or will be totally equal in the marriage.
The book does give some great thoughts on how a woman/mother/manger of the home can find a balance using the biblical approach from Titus 2.
This book is a guideline to help women who may struggling to balance.it.all!  If you're one of those I can.do.it.all women then you should read this book!
This is a great 4 star read for all women who are becoming life ready!
